Search teams deepen efforts at crash location of private jet near Ankara
Türkiye’s Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, confirmed that the wreckage of the Falcon 50 business jet, which had departed from Ankara’s Esenboga Airport en route to Tripoli, was discovered by gendarmerie teams roughly two kilometers south of Kesikkavak village in the Haymana district.
Despite challenging conditions including heavy rain and fog, security forces located the wreckage overnight. Operations were intensified at daybreak, with gendarmerie units securing the site and restricting civilian access.
The Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) established a mobile coordination center at the scene, which Yerlikaya is expected to visit.
Following the tragedy, Libya’s Government of National Unity announced three days of national mourning to honor the victims.
